In an official press conference by Indian IT Secretary Jayesh Ranjan on July 26, 2018, declared that Telangana state is positive towards the DLT technology and soon going to sign several memorandum of understanding (MoU) with blockchain companies in an event which is going to be organized by International Blockchain Congress (IBC), a three-day event beginning from August, 3rd.
“We are planning to implement Blockchain Technologies in six or seven government applications. We will be signing MoUs with a few companies in the upcoming International Blockchain Congress to be held next month with an idea to bring more transparency and efficient services to the people.”
The IBC claimed to witness more than 3,000 persons participating counting blockchain experts, innovators and over 80 speakers featuring. Guests including -Telangana Minister for IT and Industries KT Ramarao, Goa IT minister Rohan Khunte, NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant and U.S. billionaire tech investor Tim Draper.
However, earlier Tim has criticized India’s negative stance on cryptocurrencies.
Also, the Union IT Minister Mr. Ranjan paralleled his stance on various occasions and proclaimed that India has not permitted bitcoin in an official way. The State government’s stand is no different. Our stand is that we have to wait and watch cryptocurrencies: what is happening, regulations and mechanism.”
The areas and the platforms of Blockchain Technology adoption are not clearly mentioned. The details are expected to be given at the event beginning of the event.
The first two days of the conference will be hosted in Hyderabad while the third day of the event will be presented in Goa, said Abhishek Pitti, CEO of Nucleus Vision organizer of the event.
For the country’s development and growth, the implementation of blockchain technology in state applications can be considered a positive step from the influencers point of view as this will give the stage to blockchain enthusiasts and different stakeholders to come up with new and innovative products in terms of transparency for the betterment of the society.
