Partnership to Launch Blockchain-enabled ‘Pilotless’ Vehicles

Aviation giant Boeing is inking a deal with an artificial intelligence firm to release unmanned vehicles and related products using blockchain technology.

SparkCognition, a Texas-based firm, which Boeing provided an investment worth $32 million in the past month, will collaborate with Boeing on a platform designed to track unmanned aerospace vehicles and provide flight corridors.

As part of the agreement, there will be a standardized programming interface to back package delivery, industrial inspection and other applications.

Amir Husain, SparkCognition CEO, is optimistic that the aerospace industry will soon achieve a huge market worth amounting to $3 trillion in the future.

Husain added the commercial aerial mobility has the chance in leading the creation of the largest new market in our lifetime.

A few days prior to the UK’s annual Farnborough Airshow, Boeing is not the sole company that plans to make a remarkable announcement.

Previously, Accenture noted on the same the event, it will be releasing a blockchain-based platform created specifically for aircraft supply chains.

Boeing’s CTO Greg Hyslop said we are in a historical era where technological advancements and social trends converge to provide bold solutions and innovative means to travel.
