The open source decentralized platform, Stellar Lumens (XLM) has had a cartoon rocket ship as its logo since its inception in 2014. The team at the Stellar made this announcement on March 11 via a blog post. The move to redesign their logo is considered a part of their latest process of revamping its brand identity. Interestingly, the new logo of Stellar will provide them with more design flexibility.
In order to help them redefine their visual identity, they have sought support from the design firm a Stockholm based company, Kurppa Hosk. Interestingly, Kurppa Hosk has collaborated with some of the world’s most admired companies.
It is to be noted that Stellar is a platform that connects payments systems, banks, and people. They allow a user to move money speedily, dependably and smooth the progress of low-cost payments between diverse currencies. Notably, the organization has served as an anchor to various sorts of commercial services and products and is home to a varied ecosystem of projects.
After a number of trials, the team finally decided a logo which is sleek, simple, modern, and can without difficulty become a recognizable symbol like a dollar symbol. Interestingly, it involves a circle with 2 strikethroughs in an inclined arrangement.
The blog said that over a number of iterations, the team played with the negative space and the stroke weight. It added that they rotated the logo around, so it looked a little like an S. It’s got resonance with Stellar’s initial “S”; it’s got just a hint of Saturn in there.
It is to be noted that the logo will be launched officially by the brand with the stellar.org redesign in May. The team conveyed that they shall embark on using the identity in new projects effective without more ado.
